TL;DR
Alex scaled BoostAppSocial (Instagram-growth app) to $100k MRR on pure Meta ads and exited for seven figures. He spent $1.5–1.8M on ads (~$800k “wasted”) to learn the brutal math: ~1 in 85 ad creatives wins. The whole business was infrastructure to generate enough creative volume to keep hitting that winner — see paid-ads-scaling.
The playbook
- Creator outreach at insane scale — built infrastructure with 1,000 Gmail accounts sending ~10 emails each/day; replies funnel into a Telegram group where VAs negotiate, send $100 upfront (proves it’s not a scam), and sign perpetual-rights contracts. Ended with ~300 owned UGC creatives.
- The 3-word ad formula: captions (80% watch muted) + green screen (person talking, app demo behind) + crazy hooks (first 5s, visual and copy). Mix-and-match 5 creator videos into ~15; Mr-Beast-style quick cuts.
- 1-in-85 reality — even a technically great creative bombs if Meta or the audience doesn’t like it; it must be both a Meta match and an audience match. Volume is the only answer.
- Account bans are the real risk — 6+ permanent Meta bans, each a month-long fight; a warm account + a Meta rep became part of what was sold.
- The infrastructure WAS the business — warm account, rep, 300 rights-cleared creatives, dashboards all transferred in the sale; negotiated from strength via a broker + escrow.
- Business/subscription apps > consumer clones — higher willingness to pay ($200–300/yr, “spend $200 make $2,000”), better multiples; don’t copycat — go to a blue ocean.
- 2026 edge: AI-generated hooks (Veo 3 + LLM script + CapCut) for weird/high-emotion openers humans can’t shoot.
