Best ASO Tool for Accurate Download & Revenue Data

coming up when you’re looking at your competitor’s data which tool has the most accurate revenue and downloads data stay tuned what is up appnation it is Steve p young founder of app masters.com the place you go when you want actionpack content related to helping you grow your app downloads and your revenues and today we took a look at all our client data and looked at the data from all the different ASO tools out there that

estimate downloads and revenue to give you the exact data on which tool is the most accurate depending on Revenue data so without further Ado let’s get into it and joining me today is a member of our team bavia who put this entire presentation together bavia how are you doing I’m doing good all right bavia let’s get into it shall we so let’s break this down so we took an app that’s making less than $5,000 a month and we’re showing you the data what did you find bavia for the app that is renue

less than $5k mobile action shows more accurate downloads data for for the app that has less than 5K from oh sorry revenue and we’ve even seen this around like 10K data like around 8 to like 15K mobile action tends to have really accurate data when it comes to much smaller apps one thing to note is we did pull proceeds just to give you the exact proceeds that the developer is making or client is making but these guys would probably report Revenue so just keep

that in mind as we break all this numbers down as well so let’s take a look at a bigger app that’s less than $50,000 a month for the app that has more than 50,000 downloads the sensor Tower shows the approximate accurate Revenue data for those apps that has Revenue around 10000k so it looks like here we’re seeing cens is a little bit accurate but pretty far off and then mobile action starting to come into play and I think this is where it gets tricky right and there’s going to be wild fluctuations so if you’re seeing these

type of numbers compare it with mobile action and sensor Tower as you can see no tool is accurate and definitely not app figures and app Magic on this end the four tools I forgot to mention is Center Tower right here mobile action app figures and at Magic we have a better slide for you guys at the towards the end that’s going to really break down all these numbers into a nice little spreadsheet as well so right here it looks like it’s a mixed bag but I have seen mobile action under 50K be a little bit more accurate and centr town being pretty accurate which that too now

for apps that are making over 100k or closely than that then tools start to get a little bit more accurate in this case what you find here for the apps that have Revenue around 100K sensor Tower shows the approximate accurate data for those apps we’ve seen this too when it’s above close to 100,000 as much as possible sensor Tower tends to be more accurate when it comes to this stuff as you can see at Magic it’s I’ve seen this to be a little bit accurate so it might just be the app that we just pulled for this sta Source but at Magic

is okay too but usually sensor Tower starts really kicking in when you’re talking about bigger apps in the space and then lastly over 150k for the apps that have Revenue more than 150k and less than or around 200k sensor Tower and app figures show the approximate accurate Revenue data for those apps 200k for the apps that have Revenue more than 200k app figures show the approximate accurate data in terms of revenue for those apps yeah my

personal feelings there not a huge big difference from 200k and 300K at this point it’s kind of like you know and this is proceeds too and so probably proceeds wise this this client’s probably making close to to the 300K so I think really going after sensor Tower because it’s free F figures has pretty accurate scores too but really pay attention to sensor Tower once an app you’re looking at an app and sensor Tower sayings around 100,000 or above then it’s probably the most accurate when it comes to that as that’s where mobile action gets a little bit tricky

on this end too and also one more thing to add in the app magic it shows that the revenue is only for the iPhone side of things and it does not include iPad here’s a spreadsheet that broke down everything that you saw in the presentation for apps that are a little bit under 5,000 as we said mobile action tends to be a little bit more accurate I would almost say in the 11,000 to and above range mobile action tends to be the more accurate data Now for apps that are making around 50 and above I think

that’s where sensor Tower right Bia tends to kick in and they’re they tend to have more accurate data along with app figures so you can see this app that’s making 192,000 in Revenue sensor Tower is starting to be a little bit more accurate whereas mobile action starting to under report how much revenue this app is making and then 300,000 app is where sensor Tower kicks in and mobile actions really Under reporting and at figures is really close at Magic what I like about at Magic is it’ll break down revenue and this is just their guess the percentage of

Revenue by country whereas these other tools just give you the overall worldwide Revenue I really like at Magic when it comes to seeing by the country breakdown so like if it’s above 100,000 that’s where at Magics will probably have an accurate sense of the data and then now I would go under at Magic and just see the breakdown from country if you’re deciding which country is to Target outside of us or your whatever your primary country is when you’re doing competitor analysis Bobby anything else you want to add no
